North Gawler Craton Project Update: Widespread Copper Mineralization Reveals an Emerging District-Scale Intrusive-Related System

Vancouver, BC, Canada – Tuesday, October 27, 2026 – TheNewswire - Great Plains Metals Corp. ("GPS" or "the Company", TSX-V: GPS, Frankfurt Exchange: 8VC) is pleased to provide an exploration update for the North Gawler Craton Project in South Australia. The project is managed by joint-venture partner Eversley Resources Pty Limited (“Eversley”), in which GPS currently holds a 37.1% strategic equity stake with an Option to increase ownership.

While the Company remains focused on its flagship Goodrich Project in NSW (where GPS holds a 51% interest and is actively advancing toward a 70% stake), the North Gawler Craton Project represents high-value asset diversification with strategic district-scale potential.

Eversley recently completed a maiden field reconnaissance campaign.  This identified widespread outcropping oxide copper mineralization and an emerging district-scale, intrusive-related copper-gold system within the tenement, EL6590. First-pass sampling has confirmed dual exploration upside consisting of high-grade near-surface oxide copper potential and primary intrusion-related targets.

Key Highlights

  • District-Scale Intrusion-hosted mineralization associated with outcropping monzonite-syenite intrusive bodies identified across a 25 – 30 km long by 10 – 15 km wide corridor within EL6590.

  • Updated Geological Interpretation: New field data has updated the interpretation of the geology from undercover Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) targets toward outcropping, intrusive-related porphyry systems.

  • High-grade selective oxide grab samples from historical workings returned peak values of 31.1% Cu, 1.07 g/t Au, and 39.5 g/t Ag at Coominaree, and 29.2% Cu, 1.48 g/t Au, and 22.4 g/t Ag at Warloan. (Note: Grab samples are selective by nature; see the complete sample grade distribution in the Technical Appendix below.)

  • A follow-up field campaign is currently underway, focusing on detailed mapping and drill targeting across the Coominaree and Warloan-Victory prospects.

Porphyry Target Corridor

Assay results from initial reconnaissance rock chip sampling around early-1900s mine workings have significantly shifted the project's technical direction. Exploration targets historically categorized as deep, undercover IOCG anomalies are now recognized as outcropping, geologically younger intrusive-related style settings.

The geological focus of this emerging district is the Bungadillina Monzonite Suite (shown regionally in Figure 1), an expansive early Paleozoic multiphase intrusive complex. Field mapping has identified a well-defined structural corridor hosting numerous outcropping monzonite-syenite intrusive centers, previously unrecognized, stretching across an area 25 to 30 km long by 10 to 15 km wide within tenement EL6590.  These previously unrecognized intrusive monzonites and stockwork zones in close proximity to historical workings are highly encouraging for this early stage of exploration and warrant immediate follow-up to test the wider primary system.

Priority Exploration Targets

Eversley has prioritized three distinct prospect areas for immediate follow-up based on their footprint size and structural context.

Coominaree Prospect

The Coominaree Prospect represents a high-priority target defined by a robust, continuous surface footprint. Field teams verified that historical early-1900s prospecting pits and strong copper-in-soils anomalies extend over an initial
700-meter open strike length (detailed in Figure 2), embedded within a broader regional corridor that remains completely untested over several kilometers.

First-pass sampling over this structural trend has confirmed numerous widespread rich supergene oxide copper occurrences (Figure 3). Selective oxide grab samples (Figure 4) from the old workings returned up to 31.1% Cu, 1.07 g/t Au, and 39.5 g/t Ag (Sample #337031). Interestingly, first-pass sampling of adjacent weathered monzonite returned up to 0.35% Cu.

Warloan–Victory Prospect

A large ~5 km² target search space characterized by high-grade structurally controlled quartz lodes outcropping within an area of historically mapped, but never-before-sampled, quartz veining, mapped in Figure 5.  The Warloan historical mine was worked between 1916 to 1920 from a 100 meter long open pit with shaft and drives. The mineralized structure appears to extend over 350 meters.

Selective oxide grabs of coarse run-of-mine (ROM) ore piles, shown in Figure 6, returned values of 29.2% Cu, 1.48 g/t Au, and 22.4 g/t Ag (Sample #337039).  Mapped dolerite-hosted stockwork veining at Warloan North returned 0.36% Cu, while leached, weathered veining in the sedimentary host rocks at Warloan East returned 0.16% to 0.30% Cu.

Last Chance Prospect

Highlighted by an open copper-in-soils anomaly extending over 600 meters long, this prospect is surrounded by scattered surface copper occurrences within a 2.5 km² grid.  As displayed in Figure 7, the copper in-soil anomalism is symmetrically distributed around a strongly altered, newly identified monzonite and hydrothermal alteration center.

Follow-up Field Campaign

A follow-up field campaign is currently underway, focusing on detailed mapping and drill targeting across the Coominaree and Warloan-Victory prospects. Assay results from this field work are expected in December, which will aid in determining targets for a drill program targeted during the April to October 2027 field season.

Peeyush Varshney, CEO, commented:

"The identification of multiple outcropping copper occurrences associated with intrusive bodies across this regional-scale corridor represents a significant new shift in the technical direction of the North Gawler Craton Project. For decades, much of South Australian exploration has focused predominantly on deeply buried IOCG targets. Encountering widespread, outcropping copper showings at both Coominaree and Warloan indicates potential for near-surface supergene mineralization and primary intrusion-hosted deposits.

Importantly, this discovery complements our core focus at the flagship Goodrich Project in New South Wales. While our technical team is currently focused on the Stage 2 drilling campaign at Goodrich, our partner Eversley can systematically advance these shallow, outcropping South Australian targets at a very low cost. This dual-track approach gives our shareholders simultaneous exposure to near-term drill catalysts at Goodrich, in the Lachlan Fold Belt and grassroots district-scale discovery potential in South Australia."

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

All rock grab and surface geochemistry samples highlighted in this release were collected during a July 2026 reconnaissance field program by senior geological personnel from Eversley Resources Pty Ltd. Samples were selected, logged, and individually placed into high-strength sample bags marked with unique identification numbers. The samples remained under the direct supervision of the field geological team until transport and direct delivery to the ALS assay laboratory facility in Adelaide, South Australia. Eversley Resources Pty Ltd technical personnel implemented standard industry field protocols into the sample stream prior to laboratory shipment.

ALS Adelaide is a commercial testing facility that operates completely independent of Great Plains Metals Corp. and Eversley Resources Pty Limited. The laboratory holds formal technical accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 for mineral analysis from the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and maintains global quality management certification under ISO 9001:2015 protocols.

Once received at ALS Adelaide, the samples underwent standard industry preparation, including crushing and pulverization. The pulps were analyzed for copper and multi-element suites using industry-standard multi-acid digestion followed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) finishes. High-grade over-limit copper values exceeding standard detection thresholds were sequentially re-analyzed using targeted ore-grade copper analysis methodologies. The designated Qualified Person has reviewed these internal laboratory performance metrics and verified that the analytical data is consistent with the visual mineralization observations detailed in the field logs.

Qualified Person Statement

Mr. Douglas Kirwin, M.Sc., FGS, FAusIMM (CP), FSEG, an executive Director of Great Plains Metals Corp and a non-independent Qualified Person (QP) as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information presented in this news release.

The Qualified Person cautions investors that the rock grab samples discussed in this release are selective by nature and are utilized strictly to confirm the presence of mineralization styles. As surface grab samples, they are unlikely to be representative of the overall grade or average width of the mineralized zones across the property.

Furthermore, the technical data includes historical assay figures, map sketches, and exploratory statistics generated by prior operators dating back to the early 1900s, 1960s, and 2010s. This legacy data has not been independently verified or updated by the Company or a Qualified Person under NI 43-101 guidelines, and should therefore not be unduly relied upon.

Cautionary Note Regarding Early-Stage Exploration Risks

The North Gawler Craton Project is at a greenfield exploration stage. To date, no Mineral Resource or Ore Reserve has been estimated on the property. Porphyry and oxide copper targets described herein are conceptual exploration styles.  Technical references, assays, and maps linked to prior operators (dating from the early 1900s, 1960s, and 2010s) are historical in nature. These results have not been independently verified under NI 43-101 guidelines and should not be relied upon.

About Great Plains Metals Corp

Great Plains Metals Corp is an emerging, Australia-focused exploration company targeting copper-gold porphyry and district-scale critical mineral discoveries. The Company’s fast-track discovery strategy centers on technically validating high-grade, drill-ready targets situated within premier geological jurisdictions.

  • The Flagship Goodrich Project (NSW): Located in the heart of New South Wales' premier copper-gold jurisdiction – near the Yeoval township and roughly 70 km northwest of Orange – the project spans an extensive 290 km² across exploration licenses EL9243 and EL8538.  The Goodrich Project is situated within the world-class Lachlan Fold Belt.

  • Earn-In & Ownership Status:  The Company currently holds a 51% participating interest in the Goodrich Project and has elected to proceed with Stage 2 exploration expenditures to increase its total joint-venture ownership stake to 70%.

  • Proven Mineral Footprint: Historically the largest mine in the Yeoval district, Goodrich operated intermittently between 1868 and 1912. Production from its historic 46 meter open pit and 90 meter underground shafts yielded an estimated ~300 tonnes of copper, 159 kg of gold, and 62 kg of silver, notably supporting a local smelter facility during its peak operational phases. Modern geological modeling suggests this historical mining merely exposed the upper tip of a significantly larger, robust porphyry core system below the old mine.

  • Strategic District-Scale Upside: GPS holds a 37.1% equity stake in Eversley Resources, giving the Company low-cost exposure to the North Gawler Craton Project in South Australia. Spanning an extensive 2,329 km the project targets  emerging district-scale, intrusive-related porphyry copper-gold systems. With a Native Title Mining Agreement for Exploration secured and target depths uniquely shallow at under 150 meters, the project represents immediate, high-value asset diversification.
