Hammond Manufacturing Company Limited Provides Update On Section 338 Tariffs

Hammond Manufacturing Company Limited

GUELPH, ONTARIO – August 24, 2026 – TheNewswire - On July 20, 2026, the U.S. administration announced new tariffs of 50% on certain Canadian products imported into the U.S. under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, effective August 19, 2026. Following a brief three-day pause, the tariffs officially came into force on August 22, 2026. On a year-to-date basis ending June 26, 2026 had Section 338 tariffs been in place, Hammond Manufacturing Company Limited (the “Company”) estimates these tariffs would have impacted approximately 3.5% of net sales and reduced net income for the period by approximately 60 basis points. The Company has been navigating the implications of U.S. tariffs for over 18 months and continues to monitor developments relating to the scope and implementation of these tariffs and any potential impacts on our business. The Company’s strategy has not changed – we will continue to support our customers around the world who have come to rely on our products and service.
