Rockland Resources Expands Pipestone Bay Gold System Through Earn-In Agreement
Vancouver, British Columbia — October 2, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Rockland Resources Ltd. has signed a definitive earn-in agreement with Evolution Mining Gold Operations Ltd., a subsidiary of Evolution Mining Limited, to potentially earn up to a 70% interest in a gold system surrounding Pipestone Bay in northwestern Ontario's Red Lake Mining district. This agreement expands Rockland's exploration footprint at Pipestone Bay by 5.7 times, from 608 hectares to approximately 3,471 hectares, and encompasses Rockland’s wholly-owned Cole Gold Mine property.
The expanded project area includes a 6.5 km by 1.5 km ultramafic-mafic intrusive complex, featuring regional-scale rheological contact, significant alteration, and major structural overprint. A previously undrilled, buried magnetic target, measuring 1,050 meters by 625 meters, shows similarities to the Dome Stock. The ground subject to the earn-in agreement hosts over 30 documented mineral occurrences, with historical results including 121.7 g/t Au with 1.80% Cu, 111.8 g/t Au over 2.21 meters, and 13.0 g/t Au over 7.3 meters. Minimal drilling has been conducted on some of these historical showings.
Tim Twomey, Advisor to Rockland Resources, stated that the opportunity to earn into this expanded land package provides Rockland with a significant chance to discover something substantial. He added that the new land package, combined with the Cole Gold Mines property, offers a unique opportunity to assess and rank numerous gold occurrences, increasing the probability of success by focusing on the highest-ranked targets.
The combined land package allows Rockland to explore the Pipestone Bay gold system comprehensively. Gold occurrences on the property are situated in a similar geological setting to those at the Cole Gold Mines property, found within major shear zones and associated with mafic and ultramafic contacts, intrusive rocks, folding, and faulting. Multiple geological events, including D1 and D2 deformation, faulting, alteration, veining, and intrusive activity, have provided repeated episodes for gold deposition, remobilization, and concentration.
Recent work at Rockland's Cole Gold Mines Project has refined the understanding of the geological structure. The ultramafic contact is not a single boundary; repetitions of mafic and ultramafic units occur due to folding and faulting, creating multiple rheological contacts within the structural package. The relationship between gold and geological features is measurable: assays above 25 g/t Au in a previous 19-hole dataset were found within 30 meters of a logged mafic dyke or ultramafic contact. For assays above 10 g/t Au, the median distance to a mafic dyke was approximately 2 meters. Recent drilling also encountered additional parallel veins and high-grade gold below historic workings.
A drone magnetic survey has reinforced the model of a complex, altered system and identified a large, potentially felsic intrusive body beneath Pipestone Bay. This high-priority Pipestone Bay magnetic anomaly, approximately 1,050 meters by 625 meters, has an interpreted source about 200 meters below the surface. It is believed to be a buried felsic intrusive body with strong hydrothermal alteration. The regional structural fabric appears to wrap around and be deformed by this anomaly, with several major D2 structures projecting towards it. No drilling has been conducted on this structure to date. Intersections of interpreted D2 structures with this anomaly, including the strike extension of the Cole Gold Mine structure, enhance its prospectivity for gold deposition.
Rockland's initial work program at Pipestone Bay will involve three phases: target verification and ranking through field-based ground truthing, followed by geological ranking for drill testing; an initial drill program focusing on follow-up targets at Cole and high-priority targets on the Evolution Option ground; and subsequent work based on the results of the first two phases and Technical Committee review.
Under the agreement terms to earn a 51% interest, Rockland will issue 100,000 RKL shares to Evolution on the effective date and fund C$750,000 in exploration expenditures in Year 1, an additional C$2.25 million in Year 2, and C$2.0 million in Year 3. Additionally, Rockland will issue Evolution another 150,000 RKL shares by the third anniversary. The initial three-year exploration commitment totals C$5.0 million. Rockland can increase its interest to 70% by issuing an additional 250,000 RKL shares and funding at least C$6.5 million in exploration over a subsequent 30-month period. Rockland has been appointed Operator of the project.
Evolution retains a buy-back right: if Rockland declares an NI 43-101 mineral resource of at least 1.5 million ounces of gold equivalent, Evolution may increase its interest to 70% by paying 150% of the relevant proportion of Rockland's exploration expenditures used to define the resource. The joint venture also grants Evolution a right of first refusal to process Project ore at its Red Lake operation on commercial terms, subject to available capacity.
Mike England, CEO of Rockland, commented that the property possesses essential attributes such as size, placement, and multiple geological events, alongside newly measurable gold relationships and a kilometre-scale buried target identified by a drone survey. He believes the Evolution agreement provides the necessary ground position to test the gold system comprehensively.
Rockland also announced that there were no material changes in the remaining metallic screening follow-up assays from Cole’s previous drill program. Finder's fees will be payable on this transaction.
